Mid-America Signs Party City in 12,000 sf Lease at Southport Plaza in Kenosha, WI

KENOSHA, WI – Party City, a specialty party goods chain based in Rockaway, N.J., recently signed a lease for 12,000 square feet at Southport Plaza in southeast Wisconsin., according to Richard Spinell, principal of Mid-America Asset Management Inc. the Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois-based leasing firm that represents the 358,143 square-foot center. The store plans to open in early September 2010. Representing the landlord Raymond & Associates in the lease was Mid-America Vice President Barb Kading, in conjunction with Associate Broker Teresa Shemitis at the firm’s Wisconsin office. Mark Grossklag of Grossklag Commercial represented the tenant.

Party City operates more than 600 company-owned and franchise stores throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico, with three Wisconsin locations currently listed in Appleton, Onalaska, and Madison. The chain is a division of Amscan Holdings, Inc., based in Elmsford, N.Y. Southport Plaza is located at the northwest corner of Green Bay Road and Highway 50 in Kenosha, Wis., which has experienced a 20 percent increase in population over the past 10 years, in a county that will soon become home to a new Abbott Laboratories facility and the Uline corporate headquarters. The suburban shopping center is anchored by Kohl’s, Petco and Office Max.
