Mid-America Secures Chicagoland's 1st Young Chefs Academy for Glenbrook Market Place

GLENVIEW, IL (Feb. 24, 2009) – Young Chefs Academy, a national franchise that offers cooking classes for children, is entering the Chicagoland area with a 1,600 square foot lease at Glenbrook Market Place in Glenview. According to Richard Spinell, Principal of Oakbrook Terrace-based Mid-America Asset Management, Inc., exclusive representative for the center, the academy is targeting an April 2009 opening date.

Young Chefs Academy, established in 2003, provides children’s cooking classes in a safe environment that encourages discovery and creativity in a kid-friendly classroom. Weekly classes are based on rotating themes that explore the tastes of different regions of the world or different master chefs, such as Rachael Ray and Emeril Lagasse. "Kindercooks" classes are designed for ages 3-5, "Junior Chefs" for ages 6-13, and "Senior Chefs" for those who have met specific criteria and are looking for a more in-depth culinary experience. A master chef program, mini-camps, and party packages are also available. The Texas-based company lists more than 150 franchises since 2005, including one other Illinois location in O'Fallon, near St. Louis.

Mid-America Leasing Representative Katie Hennegan coordinated the lease on behalf of the landlord, and Mark Brodson of Schwalb Realty represented North Shore Little Chefs, Inc., d.b.a. Young Chefs Academy.

Glenbrook Market Place is located at the northeast corner of Willow and Pfingsten Roads in Glenview on Chicago's affluent North Shore. Walgreens and MB Financial Bank anchor the 62,815 square-foot center, with other tenants including Hyundai Super Market, Szechwan North, Eggsperience Café, and Glenbrook Cleaners.
